Project works

General

Project works at VAW start on the 2nd Monday of the semester. Project works are organized as individual thesis or in groups of 2 or 3 and the topics can often be multiply assigned. Group formation is assigned by the teaching assistance, however we try to consider special requests.

Further information can be found on the websites of the corresponding study programmes:

For Civil Engineers, also Project Based Research Works are offered. They take place within the same time frame then regular project works and are organized as individual theses. The Project Based Research Related Works are planned to be continued as Master's Thesis in the following semester.

Topics

Each semester, VAW offers topics in both flood protection/river engineering and hydropower planning. Partly, these topics can be assigned multiply. Additional topics (current research projects, experimental, numerical,...) are offered as individual theses depending on internal capacities.

Own topic suggestions might also be possible, e.g. in cooperation with engineering companies or public authorities (Downloadnotes for own suggestions [in German] (PDF, 101 KB)). For own suggestions, please contact the teaching assistance early to insure that the topic can be carried out in the given framework.

A list with available topics, as well as ongoing and completed project works is managed on our homepage.

If you are interested in a Master's thesis at VAW and have further questions, please contact the teaching assistance.
